Autism and the Faith Community Conference

Greetings!  As a friend and supporter of Peaceful Living, we hope you’ll join us for our upcoming mini-conference, which is entitled Autism and the Faith Community.  We’re extremely proud to bring this conference to you and very excited to have presentations by Debra Dunn, Esq., and Gail Stein, MSW, who are representing the prestigious Center for Autism Research at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

The Details:

Date: Thursday, October 27th, 2011
Time: 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm (Registration begins at 5:15 pm)
Where: Maplewood Estates at the Peter Becker Community, 815 Maplewood Drive, Harleysville, PA 19438
Cost: $40, or $55 if you would like to receive nursing contact hours* or social work CEC’s** (Scholarships are available.)

The Center for Autism Research (CAR) at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is one of the largest and most comprehensive autism research centers in the world. CAR’s goals are to identify the causes of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and develop effective  treatments. CAR is also committed to training and outreach to educate parents and professionals about ASD.

*An application for contact hours has been submitted to the PA State Nurses Association. Please call, Courtney Smith, R.N. at Peaceful Living for more information about contact hours.

**Seeking PA CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS? If you are a Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of PA, you are eligible to receive 3.0 Continuing Education Credits for participating in this Summit through a partnership with Family Services of Montgomery County, a pre-approved agency. Attendees eligible for CECs must attend the entire program without exception; those unable to attend the entire program are not eligible for part of the CECs awarded.
