Peaceful Living’s Care Companions provide supports for our clients in their own homes and local community. Our companions are thoroughly trained to compassionately mentor and teach clients so that they can work towards achieving their personal goals as outlined in the Individualized Support Plan.
As with every department of Peaceful Living, our companions work to make sure your loved one has a strong sense of belonging in their community. We try hard to encourage the enthusiasms that your loved one has, care for the whole individual, provide sincere companionship and give strong opportunities to be a member of their community.
How We Help Your Loved One Belong
Habilitation: This is an educational service that we offer to individuals in their home and community. We work on specific goals that we draw from the Individual Service Plan that has been developed with your county Supports Facilitator. These goals are summarized on the daily logs our staff will complete each session. You can expect that staff will focus their time and energy on teaching your family member their goals as they are listed on their daily log.
Hourly Respite: If you or your family member needs some time away, we will provide staff to be in your home or the community while you are away. Our staff will step in to the routine that you have established and care for your family member while you are not able to be there. Our goal is that your family member will be well cared for and have a great time with our staff.
24-hour respite: For longer periods of time, if you need to be away because of work, or just want to take a vacation we will provide a staff person to either come into your home or have your family member stay in a respite provider’s home while you are away.
