Get Out Your Calendar: Events in 2012

Peaceful Living is as busy as ever, already thinking far into the next year to do our best to bring valuable, meaningful information and thought-provoking discourse to our community.  2012 is going to be a big year for us and we desperately want to share that with everyone that can attend.  All of our events will be focusing on Peaceful Living’s goal of creating belonging, but with wonderfully varying and unique perspectives on how we can make everyone belong.  One group of people we will be focusing on at our spring 2012 mini-conference is returning veterans.  For our 3rd bi-annual conference in the fall of 2012, we’re ecstatic to incorporate you in our discussion about flourishing, and how to reach divine potential.

Without further ado, here are a few details about each of these wonderful upcoming events.

We are thrilled to be able to bring you a wonderful local author Stephanie Hubach, who wrote Same Lake, Different Boat: Coming Alongside People Touched by Disability, as our keynote speaker.   Stephanie O. Hubach directs Mission to North America’s Special Needs Ministries. Mission to North America (MNA) is an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). She currently serves on the Lancaster Christian Council on Disability (LCCD) and the Faith Community Leadership Advisory Board. Previously, she chaired the Lancaster County MH/MR Advisory Board.  As previously mentioned, Stephanie is the author of Same Lake, Different Boat: Coming Alongside People Touched by Disability (P&R Publishing, September 2006) and has also written All Things Possible: Calling Your Church Leadership to Disability Ministry (Joni and Friends, August 2007). She has been published in ByFaith magazine, Focus on the Family magazine, and Breakpoint online magazine. Stephanie and her husband Fred have been married for 27 years and live in Pennsylvania.  They have two deeply loved sons, Fred and Tim, the younger of whom has Down Syndrome.

A Quick Note: We will be applying for nursing contact hours, and we anticipate the availability of CEC’s for Social Workers at both conferences.
