Job Opening: Director of Family Services

Primary Functions

This is a very responsible position involving the intake, training, and care of children/adults with intellectual disabilities/autism with and in family homes. Activities associated with the job include coordinating all referrals and placement, tracking and compiling reports pertaining to capacity, services provided, etc. and maintaining an incident report database. Additional activities include serving as a liaison between state officials and arranging interviews with referrals, staff and service providers prior to placement.

Relationships

Reports to Executive Director, member of Peaceful Living’s leadership team.

Responsibilities

  1. Leadership for Community Habilitation, Respite Services and  Life Sharing
  2. Ensures the highest quality of holistic care is delivered in accordance with PL principles
  3. Assures that individuals’ ISP goals/outcomes are achieved.
  4. Completes all reports and documentation accurately, concisely, and timely.
  5.  Assist with the hiring, training and supervision of care coordinators and companions
  6. Ability to care for mind, body and spirit of:
    1.  Staff supervised and
    2. Individuals served by Peaceful Living
  7.  Willingness to work with various faith communities
  8. Occasionally attend community events designed to raise awareness of Peaceful Living and the mission of the agency.

Capabilities/Requirements

  1. Masters Degree preferred, Undergraduate degree required from an accredited four year college or university with a B.A. (B.S.) Degree in social services, child development, psychology, or closely related field;
  2. 8-10 years experience working with people with intellectual disabilities/autism,  5 years in a leadership position
  3. Committed to holistic care
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
