Social Programs

Tyleyia and Gretchen FCCompanionship is one of Peaceful Living’s top priorities. Our Social Programs provide the opportunity for individuals with disabilities to build meaningful relationships and socialize with their peers. Peaceful Living also realizes the need for families and caregivers to have respite time, which is why we incorporated that into our Social Program planning.

Friendship Connection is a great way for individuals with disabilities to find a friend in the community. Most times they form such a bond that they become like family. Fun monthly Lisa and Lori at a danceevents create opportunities for the individual and their volunteer friend to get together. In addition to the monthly events, friends spend a minimum of two hours together each month.

SOUL (Social Opportunities for the Ultimate Life), are monthly respite programs for families of individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. Each month we hold a themed event at Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton and Hilltown Baptist Church in Chalfont. We provide staff and volunteers for each event. People participate in games, crafts, and dinner based around that month’s theme. Attendance is limited so a reservation is required.

Our dances are another opportunity for our individuals to socialize with friends old and new. We hold quarterly dances for the people that we serve as well as the greater community. Any adult with special needs is encouraged to attend with a caregiver.

If you are interested in volunteering at these events, please fill out the inquiry form.
